This quote is simple to understand. It plainly means do the things that you want done in the world instead of just leaving it for someone else to do. Many people sit and complian about the trash in the streets and everywhere else. Instead of complaing they need to get up and do something about it. They could start up a cleaning group that would go out and clean the streets. Not only would the streets get clean, but the peopel would feel better about themselves knowing that they made the world a better and cleaner place.

How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.
I think this quote means that we have a privledge of being able to take a stand whenever we want to. We don't have to sit around and wait for someone to tell us to make a change, we can just get up and get out there. Anne Frank was the one who said this wonderful quote. The fact that she said it impacts the quote because even though she was going through everything she was she still had faith and power in order to create a change in the world. She was a very determined young woman.

First Things First
Some of the successes that I have had during the first semester were in spanish and american studies. They were both easy classes and I had fun. They were interesting classes, but I am glad that Spanish is over. Some difficulties from semester was the fact I hate Biology, therefore I did not do as well as I should have. This semester I plan to get better grades then last time. I like the fact that computers allow you to connect with your friends and get to surf the web and get on whatever you want. I can't fix computers and I don't plan to learn anyhow. That's basically it.

My Favorite Beyond The Line Question
Question: What movies, books, plays, or TV shows did you see that held an oracle, or fortune teller?
Answer:
Did you ever think there could be someone in the world who could tell the future? Well, maybe not in real life, but I did witness them in a movie. The movie, "O Brother, Where Art Thou", is a funny movie about three men who escape prison and go through a lot on their journey to find a so called "treasure." I've seen an oracle on a TV show, "Courage the Cowardly Dog" to be exact. This is a show about a dog who faces problems but always comes out victorious. Last, I've read about an oracle, in the book The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. The story of a young boy by the name of Huckleberry Finn, and all that he goes through with characters such as his father, Tom Sawyer, Miss Watson, Jim, and more.
First thing first, lets' talk about the hilarious movie "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou." This crazy movie contains a very interesting oracle. He's a blind African American male who finds the three main characters while going down the train tracks on a little wooden plank, with wheels, and a manual pedal. When we first meet our oracle that he stares ahead no matter what, we find out that he has no name but, indeed has a lot of wisdom. He tells our characters that they will witness a flood throughout the county, and that they will see a cow on the roof of a house. Does this really happen you ask? Yes! While one of our characters prays to God to just allow him to see his wife and kids one last time before he gets lynched, the county is flooded, and while they float in the water they noticed that there is a cow on the roof of a house. Well, I guess that oracle knew what he was talking about.
Lets' not stop there, there's another oracle that I know about who was on the TV show "Courage the Cowardly Dog." Now this oracle was very different from the other, for the fact that it was a girl, and a girl animal at that. She was a tiny dog with huge eyes, lots' of jewelry, some type of pinkish purple robe, and demanded money. We meet this oracle when Courage calls her up because things are going all wrong in his home, and he wanted to figure out what was going on. She told him as she gazed into her crystal ball that the grandma that had come to visit was friends with a ghost and together they were devising a plan to break up the marriage of her grandson and his wife. Was she right? Of course she was right, and she helped Courage to deal with the situation. He plays the role of a consular and talks with everyone including the ghost and solves the problem. He saves the marriage, sends grandma home, and unleashes the ghost to roam the earth.
Last, but not least, I read about an oracle in the book The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. This oracle was like the first oracle in the ways that he was an African American male, but differed in the ways that he was a slave, and told people their fortune by using a hairball the size of your fist, which was taken out of the fourth stomach of an ox. It was said to have spirits inside that knew everything. We learned that the oracles name was Jim and we meet him when Huck finds out his father is in town, and wants to know the reason why. Jim tells him that the hairball spoke and that it said his father doesn't know what he's going to do. Sometimes he will stay, and sometimes he will leave, and it will be best that Huck just let him do whatever he wants. He says that his father has two angels, a black one that tells him to do bad things, and white one that does the opposite. Then he tells him some things that’s' going to happen to him like he's going to get married twice, that he's got to stay away from the water or he's going to get hung and other things.
In closing, I would like to say that oracles may be extremely helpful to people who need and desire to know their future for one reason or another. As we've read the oracle in the movie "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou" was right about what he said was going to happen, and the oracle in the show "Courage the Cowardly Dog" really helped Courage to solve the issues going on in his home. Maybe you're wondering about if The Adventures of Huckleberry Finns' oracle was right, well, why don't you read the book, and you tell me if Jim was right. My Final Daft
Sojourner Truth was an abolitionist, minister, ex-slave, and a women's rights Activist. She was born Isabella Baumfree, after her fathers owner, Baumfree. She was born in 1797, in Ulster County, New York. She died November 26, 1883, in Battle Creek, Michigan. She was a very strong and courageous women, and shall be remembered because of her strong faith and will to do anything and everything she could to help others.
Well, maybe your wondering why her name is now Sojourner Truth. Well the answer is plain and simple. Truth changed her name in 1843, because she believed she received instructions from the Holy Spirit. She became traveling preacher, which is in a way the meaning of her name. By saying "sojourner" you would be talking about a "temporary resident." Meaning she didn't stay in one place for long before she was moving on to deliver the "truth" to others. And I believe that's the meaning of her name.
Something Truth may be recognized for is one her famous "Ain't I A Woman" speech. This speech was delivered in 1851 at a women's convention in Akron, Ohio. Her it is;
"Well, children, where there is so much racket there must be something out of kilter. I think that 'twixt the Negroes of the South and the women at the North, all talking about rights, the white men will be in a fix pretty soon. But what's all this here talking about?
That man over there says that women need to be helped into carriages, and lifted over ditches, and to have the best place everywhere. Nobody ever helps me into carriages, or over mud-puddles, or gives me any best place! And ain't I a woman? Look at me! Look at my arm! I have ploughed and planted, and gathered into barns, and no man could head me! And ain't I a woman? I could work as much and eat as much as a man - when I could get it - and bear the lash as well! And ain't I a woman? I have borne thirteen children, and seen most all sold off to slavery, and when I cried out with my mother's grief, none but Jesus heard me! And ain't I a woman?
Then they talk about this thing in the head; what's this they call it? [member of audience whispers, "intellect"] That's it, honey. What's that got to do with women's rights or negroes' rights? If my cup won't hold but a pint, and yours holds a quart, wouldn't you be mean not to let me have my little half measure full?
Then that little man in black there, he says women can't have as much rights as men, 'cause Christ wasn't a woman! Where did your Christ come from? Where did your Christ come from? From God and a woman! Man had nothing to do with Him.
If the first woman God ever made was strong enough to turn the world upside down all alone, these women together ought to be able to turn it back, and get it right side up again! And now they is asking to do it, the men better let them.

This speech spoke about the fact that Truth was a woman, but she could do the things men could do. She talked about how women and men should be of equal rights, and about the fact that men think that women shouldn't have rights. She believed that women did have the same rights men had because they are just as good. I agree with her speech because I believe that all people no matter race, color, religion, disability, or gender should be discriminated against, or held back from their rights. One of her quotes said "If the first woman God ever made was strong enough to turn the world upside down all alone, these women together ought to be able to turn it back, and get it right side up again! And now they is asking to do it, the men better let them." That was a great point in my opinion, and I believe that it is true and was very well stated.
Inclosing, I would like to say that Sojourner Truth is a woman of integrity, love, faith, and great strength. She is a wonderful women who I believe spoke the truth and nothing but that. "It is the mind that makes the body." This is another quote from Truth, and I believe its meaning is the definition of her. She had a great mind as in she was smart and a positive thinker, and that made her strong in her body. Meaning she held herself up to her fullest potential because her mind was made up, and she knew what she was going to do. All in all, Sojourner Truth is a great woman of history and her actions shall be forever remembered.

REFLECTION ON PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
Wow, this has been a crazy, funny, wild, and a extremely exciting presidential race. A black man running to be president. A women running for president. A woman running to be vice president. This whole election has just been so amazing. I really enjoyed all the arguments that went on and I found all the different opinions to be very, very interesting. This has been a truely historical moment for the people of the U.S. I'm glad Barack Obama is now our president, and I hope that he serves us well or we going to go through a living hell for the next four years!!!!
